Personal aspects and environment:
- Name (what do you prefer to be called)
Joe/Zal w.e floats your boat.
- Age
17, few-ish months to go until i am 18.
- Personal schedule (when are you online)
I come online most days depending on how i feeling, sometimes i take a day off randomly however mostly Fridays and Saturdays as these are the days i go out most.
When i come online out of raiding times i generally farm achievement points for titles, valor points and farm old raids weekly for badass transmog sets.
- What can distract you from gaming? (E.g. Mom, boyfriend, dog eating homework, school, sports)
Walking the dog, Eating dinner at set times, School/ Exams when it comes to it, going out to see friends and sometimes but far less frequently family.
- Characteristics (Both positive and negative)
Positive -
Very good at receiving feedback and use it to try and help me improve, although i don't always make an obvious response to criticism; it always spends time with me and i use it as a positive to improve myself.
Devoted- If there is something that i really want to achieve or acquire i will try every way i can and commit a large amount of time to reach my goal.
Middle -
Generally become fixated on things i enjoy and so succeed particularly well in some things, but as a result can do worse in other things. Competitive in certain areas, but i like to know my strengths myself rather than make it important to compete with specific people.
Negative -
Normally Quite shy/ introverted, depending on the situation don't particularly enjoy speaking on Mumble/TS/Vent until i have been raiding with a guild for a little while- having said this if wiping on said boss i am always happy think about the situation and give my insight if anyone is interested.
Terrible sense of humor, not horrible or anything but definitely unique.

Raid aspects:
- Experience
I am currently sitting on 14/14 on normal with two Garrosh kills under my belt, one of which was this morning in a pug group.
Ive only ever applied to one heroic guild before and had issues with payment and paying my subscription which lead me to take a break from the game and i game back about two months ago with everything to gain and nothing to lose.
Raid content that i have completed in my time:
-Throne of Thunder- 12/12 (Ahead of the Curve)
-Dragon Soul - 8/8 at the time, didn't pursue heroic bosses because my long-term guild disbanded because of disagreements between officers and the guild master, i didn't have the desire to search for another one at the time.
-Firelands - 4/7 HC probably my most active raiding period, i was very happy with the guild i was in.
-BoT/ToT4W/BWD - at this time i was in a very casual raiding guild, pug grouped most of it and im pretty sure i cleared all of them on normal mode before the Firelands patch was released with the exceptions of Nefarion and Cho'gall ( Wiped on Cho'gall a few nights before the patch at a low % and was gutted
)
- Guilds
Ill only include guilds from this expansion, partly because i cant really remember the names of previous guilds and also partly because they are long gone now.
Bad Omen - Emerald Dream alliance:
-Joined this guild around the same time they first killed Lei Shen on normal mode, this was my first experience in a 25 man guild and i enjoyed it very much. I began to raid with this guild and become a proper member of the guild, however when the guild master initially decided that they were going to begin heroic mode they began in 10 man, which led to raiders with a longer guild history taking the places and leaving the guilds that had been in the guild for a shorter period of time clearing everything in a second normal mode 10 man group. The guild master was also a Shadow priest, so in a 10 man group having two spriests wasn't ideal, i got to raid with them on a few of their heroic Horridon attempts times and felt that it had gone really well, but the week after they once again took someone who had a longer history with the guild and this continued for a few weeks after (which i completely understood but which wasn't particularly enjoyable). Sadly i parted ways with the guild after applying to a Heroic guild on the Horde side of Emerald dream which i never got round to trial for after having payment issues.
Broken Eclipse - Emerald Dream Horde:
-Joined this guild after coming back to the game a few months ago, they had cleared 13/14 on normal and cleared Garrosh on normal for the first time while i was boosting up my ilvl enough to join them (also getting my cloak). I am still within the guild and love these guys but they don't particularly want the same things as i do, we haven't cleared Garrosh since their original kill as a guild and i have managed to pug better and thus kill Garrosh twice, which i find rather disappointing as these pugs haven't had half as much time or any voice communication whatsoever.
- Class knowledge
Shadow priests are among the caster dps classes that bring damage but also a small amount of healing to a raid group, over time the raid healing they dish out has been reduced significantly although they still have a few CD's that bring raid healing and plenty of methods of healing themselves and blocking out high amounts of damage through the use of other CD's.
There is a large amount that i can add to this section but i will stick to talents & glyph's as it doesn't seem necessary to type out a rotation along with timings for CD's and other trinket procs etc.-Talents
Most of a Spriests choices come with the talents from tier 2,3,4,5 & 6 tier 1 makes very little difference as most of the talents are ineffective in boss fights. (I have removed talents from the explanation that are rarely necessary and rarely used in pve).
Tier 2: The mobility tier.
- Body & Soul/ Angelic feathers: The choice here for pvp is generally body and soul, as it works with the rest of your kit and allows you to be mobile and also reduces your damage taken because you shield yourself constantly throughout fights to get around, the boost after leap of faith is also helpful on occasion. Angelic feathers is more of a situational talent for boss fights where you need to move really fast, these fights are ones such as Thok, where you need to go really fast and stay away from the big scary dinosaur, this talent however does have a big flaw in the sense that it conflicts with other buffs particularly the buff from glyph of mind flay, a macro is necessary to allow the user to DPS and then remove the mind flay speed buff before a feather is placed so that the user can pick up the feather, which is a nuisance but you get used to it and this is manageable, the main benefit of body and soul is that you don't have to place a feather.
Tier 3: Damage Imacting tier.
-Mindbender/Solace and insanity: Mindbender does huge damage on a one minute cool-down, this talent is brilliant for short fights as the amount of damage it deals in the background of a short period of time is very beneficial, i have never used this talent on a boss fight however as Solace and insanity brings far more damage in the long run as it is used throughout your rotation either way for extra background damage. Mindbender is definitely the choice for blowing something to pieces (like a brawlers guild boss).
Tier 4: Desperate Prayer/Spectral guise/Angelic bulwark: Spectral guise is useful for some fights where losing aggro is important- siegecrafter saw-blades can be cancelled through the use of this talent as an example, however generally this talent is for pvp benefit. The other two come down to preferance, Angelic bulwark is smaller, a shield instead of a heal and has a shorter cooldown whilst requiring no use from the player & Desperate prayer is a larger % heal that has to be toggled by the player, i personally go with bulwark because it provides a more frequent protection that i don't have to trigger.
Tier 5: The dps/cooldown tier.
-Twist of Fate/Power Infusion/Divine insight: Twist of fate and divine insight are the two talents for boss fight usage in this tier. Twist of fate grants a huge damage boost when a boss fight has frequent small health pool adds that can be abused to keep the buff up permanently, healing when at low health also triggers the buff and so keeping renew up on yourself in high damage phases gives you a nice dps boost, this talent is by far the best for soloing high damage mobs. Divine insight is the general go to talent for single target bosses and bosses where you can multi-dot consistently. Power torrent is good for solo missions and blowing things to pieces, it is the weakest of the three but allows on demand damage.
Tier 6: Cool looking spells tier.
-Cascade/Divine Star/Halo: This tier is about how spread a fight is, single target bosses and bosses where you can stay away =halo, Cascade= spread fights, & divine star is great for solo/close up team sustain but it rarely find that i am happy use it for damage because it doesn't do a great deal.
-Glyphs
Very few spriest glyph's are viable, i have gone for the most defensive choices that keep me alive in boss fights and those that also provide move speed bonuses. Although other choices can be made these make me the most independent in a boss fight and allow me more time to focus on other things with a reduced risk of taking high damage that would otherwise be fatal. The result is a reasonably tanky caster.
- Role knowledge
DPS- I am confident in my ability to adapt to new fights and to consistently pump out good damage.
Healing- If required after spending some time focused on this spec i could easily get back into the swing of things and return to healing, even though i would prefer to stay as a shadow priest.
- How do you prepare for raids
When it comes to preparing for a raid, i always watch through guides on general boss mechanics, looking for important things that might change how i should play the fight so that i can do more damage or help the raid as a group survive longer. An example of this is the Garrosh fight, i noticed that in P1 the adds are all running in towards the centre and you can deal a great deal of damage to all of them as they run towards you using Halo talent, i had my guild master (a shadow priest) telling me that i should be using Cascade, i didn't agree with her talent choice at all and so went with Halo the next attempt and had some of the best fight openers ive ever had, whilst absolutely demolishing the other shadow priests attempts to make an efficient use of Cascade. H2P forums and Icyveins forums have a great deal of insight into how specific bosses can be played differently and what the benefits of each play style are. Other than this i generally read up for debuffs that i could potentially help to mass dispel and background details about the boss fight as a whole.

Character aspects:
- Class
(Best existing class)-Priest ofc !.
- Spec
Shadow Priest with a holy off-spec (haven't healed much since Cata) Only switched to Shadow in MoP for my first experience as a DPS main so most of my previous exp is as a healer.
- Ilvl
564 equipt with legendary cloak (got a few war-forged pieces in my bank that i need the valor to upgrade).
- Goals
The ultimate goal is to clear end-game content in a nice environment where everyone is friendly and enjoys raiding and clearing new bosses as much as i do, hopefully clearing as much of SoO on heroic as i possibly can.
Whilst im also trying to find a suitable guild before WoD's release so that i can make a comfortable start to the expansion.
